Val+tino, an Italian restaurant in Fort Lauderdale that was meant to be arebrand of Chef Giovanni Rocchio’s Valentino Cucina Italiana, has permanently closed after four months.
The 3,500-square-foot eatery was located at 620 S. Federal Highway, near Las Olas Boulevard. Val+tino’s parent company, SFL Hospitality Group, announced the restaurant is closed for the “entire summer” and will become a new concept by fall, in a Facebook post uploaded on May 8.

Rocchio parted ways Val+tino in February, according to theSouth Florida Sun Sentinel, which first reported the closure.
SFL Hospitality Group is owned by local restaurateur Mike Linder. He also owns the Jet Runway Café in Fort Lauderdale and the South Bar & Kitchen in Pompano Beach. SFL is a firm that focuses on service, food and location.

Here are eight hospitality brands that have opened or announced openings in South Florida:
L'Atelier Paris Haute Design

L'Atelier Paris Haute Design, a luxury French kitchen brand announced it opened a new showroom at 3818 N.E. 2nd Ave. in the Miami Design District on May 21. L'Atelier Paris specializes in cooking ranges, hoods, cabinetry and appliances. The showroom is 1,900 square feet. L'Atelier Paris draws inspiration from Château Peyfaures, a renowned wine estate in the Bordeaux.

Amrit Ocean Resort
Amrit Ocean Resort on Singer Island opened on May 29. The luxury beachfront wellness resort is in Riviera Beach at 3100 N. Ocean Drive. It features 155 guest rooms, 25 suites, 40 sky villas and five dining concepts. Amrit, which means “elixir of life” in Sanskrit, has a four-story spa that spans over 103,000 square feet.
Bombay Darbar

Bombay Darbar, an upscale Indian restaurant, opened its third South Florida location. The latest launched in Downtown Doral on May 30 at 8405 N.W. 53rd St, Suite E101. The 4,085-square-foot eatery is an anchor restaurant for Downtown Doral, which is a 250-acre mixed-use community developed by Coral Gables-based real estate firm Codina Partners. Bombay Darbar has operated in South Florida for 12 years. Its other locations are in Miami’s Coconut Grove and Fort Lauderdale’s Las Olas. Bombay Darbar is owned by entrepreneurs Anil Agrawal,Solomon Hwangand Darek Werynski, who purchased theconcept in 2017 from founder Danesh Irani.
Burlington Stores

Burlington opened a store in Fort Lauderdale on May 31. The national off-price retailer’s new location is at 2701 N. Federal Highway. The addition brings Burlington’s total number of stores in the state to 104.
Pura Vida

All-day cafe chain Pura Vida will open its 24th South Florida location in North Miami at the Prestige Auto Spa. Guests will be able to enjoy Pura Vida’s diverse menu while getting their cars serviced. The new cafe is located at 15180 Biscayne Blvd. Its grand opening will be hosted on June 5.

Studio Three

Studio Three, a boutique fitness center from Chicago, will open its fifth location in Miami on June 14. It’s located in the heart of Wynwood at 90 N.W. 29th St. Studio Three offers yoga, cycle and interval classes. The Miami location is 9,000 square feet. Real estate developerDavid Blitz founded Studio Three in 2015.
Su Japanese
Saladino Design Studios
Su Japanese is a new restaurant that’s set to open in Coral Gables this November, according to Saladino Design Studios, the Miami-based interior design firm that worked on the project. The restaurant is located on Alhambra Circle at 2881 Ponce De Leon Blvd. Su Japanese is owned by Marcelo Abrau. Saladino Design Studios said Su Japanese represents a $4.2 million investment. The firm’s design for the restaurant takes inspiration from Japanese and French decor, including Parisian Art Decostyles.
Mint
ASD Sky
Mint, a women's clothing and accessories store, will open in West Palm Beach's Nora District. RIPCO Real Estate announced the brand signed a lease for 1,800-square-foot space at 1045 North Railroad Ave. RIPCO’s Dillon Ross and Jon Paul Pirraglia represented Mint in the deal. The retailer expects to open in early 2025. The Nora District is a mixed-use development in downtown West Palm Beach.
